MTAS CURRICULUM

The curriculum is aimed at those interested in pursuing the performing arts at a higher level or those that have a deep passion for Musical Theatre. All students who are interested in enrolling in the MTAS must audition, including rising freshmen and currently enrolled students. Students will be expected to perform regularly for audiences, both inside and outside of the classroom. The curriculum will respond to the needs and interests of students, naturally developing FCPS' Portrait of a Graduate attributes. Course offerings are listed below.

COLLEGE & CAREER

An exciting component of the curriculum, which is embedded into all courses at the Musical Theatre & Actors Studio, is the focus on college and career readiness. Students pursuing a career in the performing arts are able to rehearse their audition materials, experiencing the process of professional workshopping with feedback aimed to prepare them for the field. Students seeking a degree in the performing arts are supported throughout their entire admissions/audition process and are able to prepare their pre-screen auditions with confidence.
